Shazam! Fury Of The Gods Movie Review

If you're looking for a fun superhero movie with great action sequences and fantastic performances, then "Shazam: Fury Of The Gods" is the perfect choice. At first, I wasn't expecting anything special from this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it turned out to be.

One of the standout features of this film is its action sequences. While it doesn't necessarily reinvent the wheel, the movie delivers plenty of hard-hitting, back-and-forth fights between the Shazam family and the Daughters of Atlas. Watching people get thrown through walls, monsters being summoned, and dragons being punched in the face is pure joy for fans of comic book action.

Another strength of "Shazam: Fury Of The Gods" is the cast's performances. Zachery Levi once again does a great job as Shazam, portraying the man-child personality of Billy Batson with ease. But the real highlights are Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as the Daughters of Atlas. Mirren is particularly impressive as Hespera, delivering her lines with venom and making her character very imposing. Liu, meanwhile, is intimidating as ever and brings a presence that screams "I'm doing everything in my power not to murder everyone in this room." And I have to admit, when Liu is first revealed as Kalypso, my childhood crush feelings for her were reawakened.

But perhaps the greatest thing about "Shazam: Fury Of The Gods" is the one-liner that little Darla delivers in the movie's most adorable voice: "Taste the rainbow, motherf$#%#." That line alone is worth the price of admission.

Of course, no movie is perfect, and "Shazam: Fury Of The Gods" does have its flaws. The story could have been more developed, as the Daughters of Atlas' motivations don't always add up. There's a conflict that could have been resolved if the characters had just had a conversation with each other, which makes everything going on in the movie look a bit silly. But even with these weaknesses, "Shazam: Fury Of The Gods" is still an incredibly fun movie that I would happily watch again. So if you want a good time at the movies, simply go up to the booth and scream SHAZAM!
